As for the past few years I have been involved in a successful e-commerce business in both running and helping design both their website and other online sales channels, I have gained experience in the trials and tribulations this can involve and ways to overcome them. Through my time in the e-commerce world I have had the pleasure of meeting some great people, who have helped us along the way and through these encounters it has increased my understanding of the do’s and dont’s and the try’s and try not’s of e-commerce.
How It Started
One day last winter (2009 not 2010) I over heard a friend of the family saying how they felt it was time for their business to join the 21st Century and felt they should have a website. Now knowing what I did at work he began to ask me some probing questions about web design and what was involved in setting up a website. One thing led to another and I agreed to set up his website. (More on this coming up)
A few years on and after lots of reading, webinars, conferences and practice in building websites and managing e-commerce sales channels such as eBay and Amazon etc I have gained a better understanding of how to replicate these successes for other businesses. I am now currently in talks with my first ever ‘client’ (Family Friend) regarding a new website re-design, as well as a new design for his eBay shop and help managing and updating his eBay strategy.
So if you have never had a website, have one but would like a new one, want to know why your website isn’t performing as well as it could be, or just want some help tidying up your eBay listing then get in touch and lets see what we can make happen.
The Coming Soon…
The possibility of taking what I talk about briefly above to the next level. There are things in the pipeworks which will hopefully turn this from a ‘wouldn’t it be cool if…’ to a ‘look what we can do’ Its early days at the minute but hopefully in the coming weeks/months there will be some new exciting things going on, so watch this space 🙂
